तीर्थव्रतोद्यापन यज्ञकर्म मया सहैव प्रियवयं कुर्या:
वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति वाक्यं प्रथमं कुमारी ॥

शादी के पहले फेरे में दुल्हन (लड़की) आगे चलती है जिसमें वो अपने पति को वचन देते हुए कहती है कि... जीवन में जब भी आप तीर्थ यात्रा, यज्ञ, धर्म कार्य, पूजा अनुष्ठान करेगें तो मुझे हमेशा अपने संग रखेंगे, तो मैं आपके बाएं यानि वामांग आना चाहूंगी।

शादी के तीसरे फेरे में दुल्हन (लड़की) पति को वचन देते हुए कहती है कि...मैं जीवन की तीनों अवस्थाओं (युवावस्था, प्रौढ़ावस्था, वृद्धावस्था) में पालन-पौषण और सहयोग करने का वचन देती हूं अगर आप भी ऐसा वचन देते हैं, तो मैं आपके बाएं यानि वामांग आना चाहूंगी।

वामांगमायामि तदा त्वदीयं ब्रवीति कन्या वचनं चतुर्थ: ॥

शादी के चौथे फेरे में दूल्हा (लड़का) आगे आता है, लेकिन दुल्हन (लड़की) भविष्य में परिवार संबंधी धनार्जन और सभी आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने वाले दायित्वों की ओर ध्यान आकर्षित करते हुए वचन मांगती है, जिसके बाद पति के बाएं अंग यानि वामांग आने की अनुमति मांगती है।

शादी के पांचवें फेरे में दूल्हा (लड़का) से दुल्हन (लड़की) अपने अधिकारों के बारे में बताते हुए कहती है कि अपने घर-परिवार के कार्यों में, लेन-देन अथवा अन्य किसी खर्च के लिए आप मेरी सलाह लेने और उसे अहमियत भी देने का वचन देते हैं, तो मैं आपके बाएं यानि वामांग आना चाहूंगी।

शादी के छठें फेरे में दूल्हे (लड़का) से दुल्हन (लड़की) अपनी सहेलियों या अन्य लोगों के बीच बैठने यानि सामाजिक रूप से आप मेरा कभी भी अपमान नहीं करेंगे। इसके साथ ही जुआ या किसी अन्य बुरी आदतों से खुद को दूर रखने का वचन देते हैं, तो मैं आपके बाएं यानि वामांग आना चाहूंगी।

शादी के आखिरी फेरे यानि सातवें वचन में दूल्हे (लड़का) से दुल्हन (लड़की) कहती है कि आप लिए हर पराई स्त्री को माता समान समझेंगे और पति-पत्नी के संबंध में किसी को बीच में आने नहीं देगें, ये वचन देते हैं, तो मैं आपके बाएं यानि वामांग आना चाहूंगी।
